READY OR NOT
I can only imagine how much Samara Weaving hates being told she looks like Margot Robbie. But. Come on now. Samara Weaving is great in her own right, but. The only difference between these two Australians seems to be that one was on Home & Away and the other was on Neighbours. Samara Weaving is great in Ready or Not, she’s great in The Babysitter, she’s a great actor. But there’s a reason one of the pieces of trivia on the Ready or Not IMDB page is “Margot Robbie was considered for the role of Grace.” No kidding.
Keep scrolling on that IMDB Trivia and you’ll find this gem: “Despite appearing as an American in many of her film roles, Samara Weaving is Australian.” Truly remarkable piece of trivia that 227 out of 324 people found interesting. “Despite killing people in this movie, Samara Weaving is not a murderer.”
Weaving plays Grace, who is marrying into the Le Domas family, who are a board game company empire. On the night of the wedding it is tradition that they must play a game randomly chosen from a mystery box. The game they play is Hide & Seek. Grace must stay hidden until dawn to win. The twist: the family are going to try to find her and kill her.
There is a scene in the movie where Grace drives a car – why do I bring that up? As IMDB trivia explains “Samara Weaving had to be taught how to drive”. Yeah, IMDB, we all had to be taught how to drive. 313 out of 317 somehow found that interesting.
Where would I fit into Ready or Not? During my life I went through a period of time where I was very into board games. I have a not small collection of them that when I moved from Ballarat to Melbourne they moved from Ballarat to a cupboard at my parent’s house. So, if I were in Ready or Not, I think I would do my absolute best to convince the family to play something other than Hide & Seek.
IF I WERE IN 'READY OR NOT' I WOULD: BE KILLED BY THE REST OF THE FAMILY THE SECOND MY BACK WAS TURNED.
